Today’s Gospel reminds us that God does not love us according to a schedule or a formula. The workers who arrived at the end of the day received the same generosity as those who had been there from the beginning. Understandably, the others struggled with that. They looked at what they had done and thought, “We deserve more.”
We can do the same thing. We can look at our lives and think, I’ve worked hard. I’ve sacrificed. I’ve tried to do the right thing. Why does someone else seem to receive more? But Jesus reminds us that the Christian life is not about keeping score.
God’s grace is not a reward we earn; it is a gift we receive. And God never runs out of grace.
Perhaps today we simply need to stop comparing and start thanking God. Instead of asking, “What do I deserve?” we can ask, “How blessed am I?” When we live with gratitude, there is much less room for jealousy, resentment, and disappointment—and much more room for joy.

Dear Parishioners,
Queen of the Holy Rosary – Wea is exploring two options for the placement of a new church building. As we consider this important step in the life of our parish, your perspective matters. Everyone’s opinion counts! Please carefully review the options and complete a short, but important, survey.
Please spend some time in prayer before completing the survey.

Queen of the Holy Rosary - Wea: Parishioner Input Survey
SURVEY DEADLINE September 22
The survey gives EVERY parishioner an opportunity to share opinions anonymously, at the time that works best for you, and in as much detail as you would like. Your responses will help parish leadership better understand the hopes, opportunities, concerns, and questions parishioners see. It will also help prepare for upcoming in-person and online opportunities to continue the conversation.
The survey contains only a few questions and should take approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on how much you choose to share. The final question provides an opportunity to share anything else on your mind about the new church or the parish.
Fr. Jerry and parish leaders want to hear from parishioners and families as they discern which option will best support the future health, vitality, and growth of Queen of the Holy Rosary – Wea.

To support this process, the parish has engaged The Brainzooming Group, an independent firm, to gather and synthesize parishioner perspectives in an impartial manner. The Brainzooming Group will host two listening sessions. The first will be in person on Sunday, October 4th at 3 pm in the parish hall. The second opportunity will be an online session on Monday, October 5th at 6:30 pm. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions. Please register for the sessions so that we can prepare materials and provide a link for the online session.
Dear Wea Family,
As we discern and pray about where our new worship space will be located and what it will include, a few thoughts to consider.
The church we are building will be made of brick, stone, wood, and glass. But, as a parish, the Church we are called to be is made up of people—people who love God, love one another, and come together around the Eucharist and the graces we receive in the Sacraments.
We should certainly discuss the location carefully. We should listen to the facts, consider the practical concerns, ask good questions, and offer our opinions honestly. But we must do so with charity. No particular location is worth damaging the unity of our parish family.
Before we ask, “Where should the church be built?” perhaps we should first ask, “What does God want us to build in our hearts?”
Let us pray for the humility to listen, the wisdom to discern, and the generosity to let go when necessary. Let us resist the temptation to turn a difference of opinion into a difference of sides. We are not opposing teams. We are brothers and sisters who worship at the same altar and are trying to discern God's will together.
When the decision is finally made, not everyone may get exactly what they hoped for. But everyone should be able to say, “I did my best to seek God's will, I listened to my brothers and sisters, and I will support our parish family.”
Years from now, people may not remember who argued for one location or another. But they will remember whether this moment brought us closer together or drove us apart.
So let us build this church the same way we hope to build our parish: on faith, prayer, humility, charity, and unity.
May the Holy Spirit guide our parish, may the Lord bless our decision, and may our new church become not simply a beautiful building, but a place where generations of people will encounter Jesus Christ and His immeasurable love for all of us.
Let us not allow the location of our new church to divide the Church we already are. No matter where it sits, it will be a beautiful and sacred place to gather together in prayer and worship.
Let us move forward together, trusting that when we sincerely seek God's will, He will lead us where He wants us to go.
In HIS Peace,
Deacon Tom
