Greetings from QHR!
This is Pentecost Sunday!
for the Sunday Readings
for audio readings
Pentecost changes the apostles. They are transformed from frightened men into brave proclaimers of the Good News. His Spirit is at work in us as well making us into the people He wants us to be.
To be a Christian is to believe and witness to Jesus's resurrection and His promise that He will be with us always and everywhere.
Let us ask for the grace to trust in His power and cooperate with His transforming love.
Archbishop Naumann has chosen the weekend of June 5-6, 2021 for when the dispensation from the obligation by the Faithful to attend Mass shall be lifted. Beginning with Masses for that weekend, all Catholics within the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas are to resume the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
Of course, those who suffer from underlying health concerns or compromised immunity, or who have genuinely serious concerns about the risk of contracting the coronavirus are not bound by the obligation to attend Mass.
As is tradition, we will be having a Memorial Day Mass in the cemetery (weather permitting). Please join as we remember our fallen service men and women and all of our relatives and friends who have passed.

A Bit of Humor
Ed and Earl are walking through the woods when a huge grizzly bear suddenly appears in the clearing about 50 feet in front of them. The bear sees the two fellas, roars to the skies and begins to head toward them. Ed drops his backpack, digs out a pair of sneakers, and frantically begins to put them on. Earl shouts at Ed, “What are you doing? Sneakers won’t help you outrun that bear.”
“I don’t need to outrun the bear,” Ed says. “I just need to outrun you.”
If you know someone who would want to receive the weekly email, please let me know and I can get them added.
Have a great week!
